Matt Maeson is a solo singer-songwriter and musician from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Maeson’s parents had a checkered passed became “musicianaries”, who traveled across the country with Christian metal bands. He was banned from listening to secular rock music on the radio until he was a teenager. He has performed at biker rallies and prisons with his parents’ ministry.
His song, “Cringe,” put him on the map, landing at No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart in August for four weeks; the longest-running number-one single by a new artist in 2019. In 2020, Maeson paired up with Americana icon, Lana Del Rey, for a remix of “Hallucinogenics.”
Fun Fact: The song “Hallucinogenics” is about a troubled night in Seattle, which he keeps a secret.
