O.A.R. (Of A Revolution) was founded in 1996 in Rockville, Maryland. The band consists of founding members Marc Roberge (lead vocalist/guitarist), Chris Culos (drummer), Richard On (guitarist), and Benj Gershman (bassist). Jerry DePizzo (saxophonist/guitarist) became an official member of the band in 2000. O.A.R. has continued to tour with the same trumpet player, Jon Lampley since 2011, and the same keyboardist, Mikel Paris since 2006.
The band has released ten studio albums, along with six live albums. They are best know for their live shows and extensive touring. In 2005, O.A.R. released their fifth album, Stories of a Stranger, which was their first to receive any mainstream success. The album debuted at No. 40 on the Billboard 200 and produced the singles “Love and Memories”, “Heard the World”, and “Lay Down.”
In 2006, O.A.R. created the Heard The World Fund. The foundation was created to “support youth and education in the United States.” To date, the foundation has raised over 1.3 million dollars.
O.A.R. released their 10th album, The Arcade on July 15th, 2022.
