
Young the Giant was formed in 2004 in Irvine, California. They originally went by the name ‘The Jakes’ but after a few member changes, they took on the name ‘Young the Giant’. The band’s line-up consists of Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass guitar), and Francois Comtois (drums). They were signed by Roadrunner Records in 2009 and released their self-titled debut album in 2010. Young the Giant’s first three singles, “My Body”, “Cough Syrup”, and “Apartment”, all charted on the US Alternative Songs chart.
On June 15, 2022, Young the Giant released a song called “Wake Up.” This is the first single off their new 4-part album called American Bollywood and was part of the first act, Act I: Origins which was released a month later on July 15th. Three other acts, Act II: Exile, Act III: Battle, and Act IV: Denouement were released as a full 16-song album on November 16, 2022.
