This is HUGE.
After nearly 30 years, it seems like Happy Gillmore 2 might actually be happening.
Christopher McDonald, the actor who plays the cocky tour Pro, Shooter McGavin, was recently on The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima podcast where he shared a little info:
“I saw Adam about two weeks ago and he says, ‘McDonald, you’re going to love this.’ I said, ‘What?’ He shows me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2…
So it’s in the works. Fans demand it…When I saw that, I was very, very pleased.”
With that being said, I have two thoughts:
- It’s Hollywood. Scripts get made, sold, and thrown away all the time. This really doesn’t mean much other than the fact that there is at least a script, but to be fair, there have probably been many scripts over the years that amounted to nothing at all.
- Do we really need another one?! Happy Gillmore was flawless, all the loose ends were tied up at the end and everyone went home happy (no pun intended). Except for Shooter McGavin when he saw Happy’s freakishly tall and scary old boss, Mr. Larson waiting for him in the parking lot.
