311 are back with their first new single in five years and proved that they never really left! “You’re Gonna Get It” made its live debut in March at 311 Day in Las Vegas. The new track arrives with a Fight Club-style video that finds the band in the center of an underground boxing ring.
311 frontman Nick Hexum said of the track:
‘The story behind the lyrics to You’re Gonna Get It is going back into the mindset of when we were young, and dumb and doing a lot of crazy stuff. Sometimes getting away with it, sometimes with consequences. And I’m going in and out of the first person saying to myself, ‘get your stuff together! Or else you’re gonna get it.’
No word on a new album but we suspect one is in the works.
311 are set to hit the road with AWOLNATION and Neon Trees for the Unity Tour which makes a stop at Rockfest in Cadott, Wisconsin on July 18th and a stop in Chicago at The Salt Shed on July 21st.
