Val Kilmer has died. He was 65.
Kilmer’s career spanned five decades starting with the 1984 Zucker release Top Secret!. He appeared in a number of the 80s and 90s greatest films but is probably known best for two iconic roles. He played troubled rock icon Jim Morrison in 1991’s The Doors. In 1993’s Tombstone, Kilmer received high praise for his portrayal of historical figure Doc Holliday.
The actor also appeared as the title character in 1995’s Batman Forever and appeared in both Top Gun films as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, the latter being his last film role in 2022.
Kilmer battled throat cancer for around a decade before passing away Tuesday of pneumonia, as confirmed by Kilmer’s daughter Mercedes.
