Fox Valley Food Truck Rally Generosity Kickoff

Thrivent Financial, SCHEELS, and the Fox Valley Food Truck Rally are coming together to benefit four local nonprofit organizations with their Generosity Kickoff on May 5 from 10am to 3pm at Fox Cities Stadium.
More than thirty local food trucks will start their summer rally season at this special event, with an added bonus of donating back to the community. Thrivent Financial is sponsoring the event, and in partnership with Fox Valley Food Truck Association and SCHEELS, benefiting four local nonprofit organizations; St. Vincent De Paul, St. Joseph Food Program, the Building for Kids, and the Fox Valley Symphony.
Families visiting the kickoff event will also benefit from the sponsorship. By stopping by the Thrivent tent, each family can pick up a special $5 coupon (limit two per family, while supplies last) to be used at any truck that day. Thrivent will then donate $5 to the nonprofits for every coupon used, and five dollars back to the food trucks to cover the cost of food.
“As a membership organization of Christians, living generously is part of our mission,” said Thrivent Financial’s Community Engagement Leader, Laura Gruender. “We believe part of being wise with money is supporting our members as they use their finances, time, and talent to make a difference in the lives of others.” Kyle Fritz, President of the Fox Valley Food Truck Rally Association is thrilled to be a part of the partnership. “Our kickoff rally was a huge success at Fox Cities Stadium last year, and this year we have even more trucks participating. What a perfect time for us to give back to our community and highlight some of the local nonprofits who help to shape our daily lives. With Thrivent’s sponsorship, it is possible to give free food to families with the coupons, and also donate back to the nonprofits.” The Food Truck Association is also donating $50 per truck to the nonprofits.
Enjoy some food and entertain the family at the free SCHEELS Kids Zone. Stop by the SCHEELS Bike Expo to visit with experts and test ride a bike. SCHEELS will donate $10 for every test ride; a maximum donation of up to $5,000 will be distributed amongst the four nonprofits. The SCHEELS Kids Zone will include an Archery Lane, Strider bike track, inflatables, face painting and many other fun activities for families.
The event will also have live performances by Appleton School of Rock and Eminence.
Large tents with tables will be on hand, but guests are also encouraged to bring blankets and chairs, and relax on the lawn. The event will run 10:00am-3:00pm, and will take place rain or shine. Parking is free.
